Musical Journey
From a very young age, Leyanis knew music was her calling.
“I have always loved music,” she shares. “When I was nine years old, I auditioned for a specialized arts program, passed the aptitude test, and was accepted.”
Her training began at a vocational art school where she studied for five years before being selected for advanced studies at the Conservatorio de Música Esteban Salas. After four years there, she completed her degree at the University of the Arts (ISA) in Havana, graduating with a Bachelors in Music.
Her specialties include Flute, Piano, Keyboard, Music Theory, Music History, Musical Analysis, and Harmony.
Professional Experience
Leyanis has taught in conservatories, music schools, and privately in both Cuba and Brazil. She has also performed extensively — as part of flute quintets, symphonies, symphonic bands, and quartets, and as a soloist.
“These experiences have given me some of my most treasured musical memories,” she says.
Teaching Philosophy
What she loves most about teaching is sharing her passion for piano, flute, music theory, and music history. Her teaching style is grounded in patience and encouragement.
She hopes every student leaves her class knowing:
